Job summary

Job Overview

A part-time (50% FTE) Coordinator, Special Projects & Programs staff position is available in the Department of English in the School of Arts & Sciences at the University of Cincinnati.

The Department of English is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Coordinator of Special Projects & Programs to work closely with the CreativeWriting Program and the Head to manage the prestigious Visiting Writers series, collect and disseminate alumni data, and support the Elliston Audio Archive and community space.

This role is ideal for a dynamic, motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys variety, and can seamlessly manage multiple priorities. The Coordinator will play a key role in the planning and execution of departmental and community events, promotion of opportunities and events on social media, and interfacing with faculty, staff, students, and visiting writers.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate Visiting Writers series.
  • Oversee alumni relations for the English program, especially the Creative Writing area.
  • Provide administrative support for program initiatives.
  • Interact with staff, faculty, external agencies, visiting speakers, and other university departments.
  • Social media and communications management for the Creative Writing series.
  • Support the Elliston audio archive, including obtaining permission to record visiting writers.
  • Perform related duties as time allows based on departmental need.
Required Education

Bachelor's Degree

Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement

Required Experience

One (1) year of experience in coordinating projects and/or programs.

Additional Qualifications Considered
  • At least one (1) year of experience coordinating projects and/or programs, in a complex or fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with social media and design software.
  • Background in writing or arts world a plus.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.

Salary/Hourly Pay Rate Information:25,000
