Summary

Maintain a safety and security plan on the assigned project. Make and document site visits & safety inspections. Review and investigate incidents and set corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence. Provide office and on-site training to employees and management.

Specific Responsibilities

Safety Documentation

• Timely reporting of incidents.
• Proper investigation and follow-up.
• Generate incident reports (OSHA Form No.).
• Keep incident reports log up-to-date.
• Perform root cause meeting in order to prevent future re-occurrence.

Safety Training

• Perform safety training (toolbox talks, etc.).
• Keep documentation of safety training.
• Develops and maintains an incentive program.
• Document safety training.

Enforcement of Safety Program

• Conducts jobsite safety inspections.
• Prepares non-compliance letters.
• Keeps non-compliance log updated.
• Issues and keeps track of citations.
• Reports safety non-conformances to Management.
• Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) control program.
• Maintain fire prevention program.
• Conduct safety meetings.
• Define hazardous materials program.
• Establish and maintain accident reporting procedures.
• Maintain weather emergency plan.

Skills/Knowledge

• Detailed knowledge of OSHA and building code standards.
• Extensive history of successful completion of seminars and training programs regarding construction safety.

Qualifications and Experience

• OSHA 500 Train the Trainer
• Bachelors degree in Construction Management or other construction related field.
• 1-5 years experience in construction safety.
• A minimum of ten (10) years experience in a construction or legal related organization, to include demonstrated leadership.
• Familiarity with operational, financial, quality assurance, and human resource procedures and regulations is a must.
