Job summary

Mercer University’s College of Health Professions is seeking a Coordinator of Experiential Learning for the Physician Assistant Program on the Atlanta campus. This role oversees the administrative duties of the clinical year, coordinates practicums with preceptors, and serves as the first contact for students and clinical staff.

The ideal candidate will manage multiple projects, demonstrate excellent organizational skills, and communicate effectively in person and in writing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing and Sales, Biology/Sciences, Human Resources, Health Information, or related field required.
  • Three years of directly relevant experience in sales/marketing, recruitment, health sciences, or healthcare environment preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee administrative responsibilities of the clinical year for the Physician Assistant Program.
  • Coordinate clinical practicums with preceptors and travel as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with students, physicians, and clinical staff; maintain confidentiality and discretion.
  • Support scheduling, data management, and program materials using EVOS/EValue systems and university platforms.

This position is responsible for coordination clinical practicums with preceptors. The successful candidate will be able to handle multiple higher-level tasks simultaneously, possess excellent time management skills, and work with changing priorities throughout the clinical year. Exceptional organizational skills are required with excellent attention to detail. This person must be able to communicate clearly, effectively and correctly in both verbal and written form, as well as exhibit professionalism. They must work extremely well in a team environment yet possess the capacity to work independently. This person will serve as the first-line contact for clinical students and Preceptors for the Physician Assistant Program and must be comfortable speaking directly to physicians, clinical office staff, and working directly with students in a clinical setting.
