Position Description Summary/Purpose :
The Coordinator of Clinical Practice and Student Services maintainsand builds strong relationships with students, site supervisors andadministrators; fulfills responsibilities of the position; ensuresregulatory compliance in all clinical areas; and participates inUniversity and community service.
Key Responsibilities

Student Advising and Support
- Advise students on academic and program requirements andprovide support with course- and faculty-related concerns.
- Collaborate with university offices regarding studentaccommodation, dispositions, certification requirements, and otherstudent needs.
- Support students in lesson and unit planning, assessment,instructional strategies, and preparation for clinicalexperiences.
- Provide ongoing guidance and problem-solving support tostudents throughout clinical placements including but not limitedto scheduling conflicts, grading conflicts, and transcript andbursar issues.
- Collaborate with the Certification officer and the Registrar tocertify candidates for graduation.
Clinical Practice and Placements
- Schedule courses for multiple locations for spring, summer andfall semesters.
- Collaborate with school districts and clinical partners toidentify and confirm appropriate placements, including specializedor multiple placements when required.
- Recruit, interview, contract, orient, and support clinicalsupervisors based on program needs.
- Organize and administer enrollment resolution for each courseduring each registration period.
- Facilitate supervisor meetings and coordinate communicationregarding student progress, evaluations, program expectations, andclinical placement concerns.
- Coordinate student teaching and clinical practice processes,including applications, eligibility review, placements, andrequired documentation.
- Support supervisors with assessment systems and technology, andmaintain required records including but not limited to student,placement, and evaluation records.
- Maintain the Clinical Practice Student Teacher Handbook, andclearly communicate program requirements and expectations tostudents and partners.
Orientations, Workshops, and Seminars
- Plan and facilitate student teaching orientations, pre-serviceworkshops, and seminars.
- Provide programming on clinical practice expectations,instructional strategies, technology, special education,assessment, and related topics.
- Monitor student progress and support completion of requiredassessments, portfolios, and other clinical practice requirements.
Assessment and Program Administration
- Monitor completion of student teaching and field-experienceassessments and requirements.
- Assess program and effectively use data to inform programmaticdecisions.
- Collaborate with program leadership, faculty, universityoffices, and school partners to support effective delivery ofclinical practice and student services.
- Provide information and reports to leadership and universitycommittees as requested.
- Assist with policy and procedure updates.
- Ensure student compliance with background checks, statecertification requirements, and institutional accreditationstandards.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Education or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of experience teaching in public orprivate schools.
- Current Certification in Education.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with educator program approval or educatorlicensing.
- Demonstrated successful teamwork and conflict resolution.
- Knowledge of current trends and practices in the field.
- Demonstrated ability in MS Office programs and Internetapplications.
