General Description

This position is responsible for planning, managing, implementing, and evaluating all school‑based activities related to federal, state, and local testing, as well as coordinating schoolwide remediation efforts. The role ensures accurate and secure administration of all state and district assessments, compliance with testing regulations, timely reporting of results, and effective communication with stakeholders. The position provides training, technical support, and leadership in assessment administration, data interpretation, and remediation planning to improve student outcomes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Plans, manages, and implements all school‑based federal, state, and local testing.
• Coordinates the administration of SOL, WIDA, VAAP, SGA, PSAT, SAT, CLEP, and district assessments.
• Develops school testing schedules, room assignments, staffing plans, and student groupings.
• Ensures full compliance with all federal, state, and division testing policies.
• Maintains strict test security and FERPA compliance.
• Ensures accurate student coding and implementation of IEP/504/EL accommodations.
• Coordinates distribution, inventory, and secure collection of all testing materials.
• Submits testing irregularities according to VDOE and district guidelines.
• Creates and delivers staff training on testing procedures, security, and technology.
• Prepares school‑level testing manuals, guidance documents, and training materials.
• Communicates testing updates and procedures to staff, students, and families.
• Collaborates with counselors, ICCs, EL staff, department chairs, and central office.
• Attends required bi‑weekly STC meetings.
• Maintains and verifies student testing records for graduation requirements.
• Analyzes assessment data and shares findings with school staff and administrators.
• Coordinates school‑based remediation and intervention programs.
• Manages the dissemination of all test results to stakeholders.
• Works with Technology Services and Media Specialists to ensure devices/WiFi are test‑ready.
• Stays current on assessment, accountability, and accreditation updates. Recommends improvements to school testing and remediation processes.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the school principal or DDOT.
• Provides targeted technical and instructional technology support to teachers as availability allows, with prioritization given to non‑testing periods and critical instructional needs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Collegiate Professional License with appropriate level endorsement, and have a minimum of three years of recent successful teaching experience.
• Must have excellent communication, organizational, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with adult learners to support teacher growth.
• Must have experience in professional development, conducting technology workshops.
• Must know about the Virginia Standards of Learning Assessments.
• Must have a strong knowledge of curriculum alignment and instructional design.
• Must have the ability to model digital assessment and data‑analysis best practices as they relate to informing instruction.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in data management and analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, SAS, or comparable platforms.
• Must have the ability to analyze, interpret, and synthesize data to develop clear, accurate, and actionable reports for stakeholders.
