Job Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Coordinator II, Budget and Expense works under limitedsupervision and on own initiative, provides oversight andfacilitation of day-to-day and some long-term operations withinassigned area of specialty. Participate in and lead planning,development, evaluation and improvement of assigned area.Responsibilities will be substantial and will require maintainingcompliance with LSC policies and procedures. Serves as SubjectMatter Expert in the Travel & Expense module, including allrelated processes and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  1. Oversees daily and some long-term operations of assignedarea; actively maintains up-to-date knowledge of area and acts as aSubject Matter Expert within area and as a point of contact andliaison for internal constituents
  2. Performs research, develops, monitors and maintains data.Analyze results and makes recommendations within area ofspecialty
  3. Performs assigned functions as the Prepay Auditor for assignedcampus. Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME), assists and providesdirection, guidance, and oversight to campus faculty and staff,helping to ensure smooth and timely workflow in the Travel &Expense Module
  4. Develop training materials for the Travel and Expense module,to include but not limited to LSC polices, best practices, and tobe tailored to campus needs. Present Travel & Expense trainingmaterials to all levels of campus personnel
  5. Utilize queries and other relevant data to generate reports forcampus budget managers to ensure expenses are posting properly on amonthly basis
  6. Provides instruction and direction to campus personnel onTravel and Procurement Card processes, including but not limited tomonthly and year-end specific processes
  7. May assist with Declining balance card applications, processingand training for campus faculty and staff
  8. Utilizes specialized skills to conduct testing, analysis, andfeedback during Travel & Expense modules upgrades. May assistthe module owner in developing and updating test scripts forimplementations
  9. Supervises, trains and develops staff
  10. Takes part in and/or leads special projects as needed
  11. Responsible for other reasonable related duties asassigned

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably todo the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending;carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; ordriving an automobile. No special physical demands are required toperform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in aMicrosoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other generaloffice equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed tocarry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office and/orlaboratory environment with exposure to safety hazards typical in alaboratory (working with chemicals, live specimens, movingequipment, etc.)
  • Safety protocol must be strictly followed at all times
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree or higher and at least 3 years of experience,or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary

Hiring salary range is $44,793- $51,512

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all postedfull-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fallin that range is determined by your related experience andeducation. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone StarCollege, the resume submitted in the application process will beutilized to calculate your salary offer.
