Job summary

The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is seeking a Coordinator I, Academic Support Programs to help oversee the day-to-day operations of the PeerLed Team Learning (PLTL) program within the Academic Success Center. The role coordinates programming, schedules, training, and student staff while liaising with faculty and staff across departments.

You will support PLTL leaders, manage attendance and data reports, and assist with marketing and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of experience related to the duties, or six years of equivalent education and experience.
• Preferred: Master’s degree with two years or more in higher education in education/learning development.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily PLTL operations, coordinate programming schedules and online registration for sign-ups.
• Recruit, hire, and evaluate peer leaders; provide PLTL training and CRLA training support.
• Oversee attendance records and create semester and annual grade reports.
• Analyze processes and identify areas for improvement; manage timekeeping for over 80 PLTL leaders.
• Create PLTL marketing materials and collaborate with ASC marketing; help plan events and outreach.
• Assist with summer programming and other duties as assigned.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $37,600 to $46,000. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.

Purpose of Position

The Coordinator I, Academic Support Programs (ASP) primarily assists with the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the PeerLed Team Learning (PLTL) program and supports other Academic Support Programs in the Academic Success Center (ASC) during peak times. This position reports to the Program Director of PLTL & MavUp Tutoring, in collaboration with the Coordinator I, PLTL. This position is responsible for the development, implementation, administration and/or marketing of program/project function; assists with serving as a liaison between students, faculty, staff, other departments and/or external constituencies on dayto-day programmatic, operational, administrative and/or fiscal issues. Coordinates activities of student staff, consultants and/or volunteers engaged in implementation and administration of program objectives.

Essential Functions

• Programming:
• Assist with daily operations of Peer Led Team Learning including: assisting with coordinating programming schedules and online registration method for sign-ups; securing venues; meeting regularly with the PLTL Leaders and Mentors; liaising with faculty coordinators to coordinate weekly activities related to curriculum content for PLTL sessions; conducting PLTL observations, and assist other ASC support programs in this regard when needed.
• Recruitment and Training:
• Assist with the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of peer leaders.
• Provide ongoing PLTL training; assist with CRLA training for PLTL leaders; and provide support for other ASP/ASC training initiative.
• Reporting:
• Oversee daily attendance records of student participants.
• Create data reporting on grade results on a semester and annual basis.
• Analyze current processes and identify areas of process improvement.
• Manage timekeeping for more than 80 PLTL leaders and assist other ASP/ASC programs in this regard when needed.
• Marketing and Events:
• Create marketing materials for PL TL leaders, student participants, faculty, and staff; as well as collaborate with overall ASC marketing team including stakeholders on campus; assist with the planning of events and social outreach.
• Other:
• Assist with summer programming and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of experience related to the duties and responsibilities specified, or six (6) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree and Two (2) years or more of professional experience in higher education with a concentration in the field of education and/or learning development.
• Proficiency in UTA software systems such as PeopleSoft and Canvas.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Forms.
• Strong presentation, interpersonal, oral & written communication skills with ability to build rapport with students, faculty, and colleagues.
• Strong management and training skills. Knowledge of learning theories and techniques.
• Ability to function efficiently in high volume office to provide services upon demand and to work independently and as a team member.
• Proficiency in UTA software systems such as PeopleSoft and Canvas or ability to quickly assimilate.

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday; 8:00am through 5:00pm
• Some weekends and evenings.
