Job summary

Lone Star College is seeking a Coordinator I, Curriculum Management to support daily operations in the assigned area. The role coordinates logistics, services and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include facilitating communication between the Executive Director's office and staff, planning meetings and events, maintaining budgets and calendars, and updating department websites and intranet as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Plans, attends and coordinates meetings, committees and events, including site selection, marketing, training materials, volunteer management, and developing meeting agendas; takes meeting minutes.
  • Monitors and maintains department websites and intranet for external use and internal reference.

Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Coordinator I, Curriculum Management facilitates daily operations within the assigned area. Coordinates logistics, services and support surrounding programs or departments. Responsible for compliance with policies, procedures, and a variety of local, state, and federal regulations. Makes and communicates process decisions based on best practices.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provides a bridge for smooth communication between the Executive Director's office and internal constituents, demonstrating leadership to maintain credibility, trust, and support
  • Performs a variety of operational support functions for assigned executive and department. This may include but is not limited to: creating and monitoring a variety of reports; making travel arrangements and completing related paperwork; maintaining a variety of information/data for executive's review; ensuring all action items and resulting documents are processed/finalized appropriately; maintaining calendars, etc.
  • Assists with entering and tracking departmental budgets; Assists with the resolution of position management and budget issues that may occur
  • Plans, provides support, and attends a variety of meetings, committees, and events including site selection and preparation, marketing, training materials, volunteer management, and general support; Coordinates with internal and external executive-level staff to accomplish moderately complex activities such as identifying and scheduling outside speakers and developing agendas or recreational programs for meetings and events; Takes meeting minutes and disseminates information to all relevant constituents as needed
  • Orders and maintains a variety of supplies (office supplies and furniture, computer equipment, promotional items, food and beverages for meetings/events, etc.). Processes purchase orders and P-card purchases for individuals, department, and possibly grant programs
  • Assists with maintaining compliance of processes and documentation
  • Assists with training and monitoring of department staff, scheduling and prioritization of work activities and development and organization of training materials.
  • Assists with evaluation of programs and makes recommendations for revisions to processes and procedures, with a focus on continuous departmental/process improvement
  • Monitors and maintain websites and intranet for department and external use
  • Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

Physical Abilities

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work and there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. Occasionally the work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing; walking over rough, uneven, or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; or recurring lifting of moderately heavy items. The work may require specific, but common, physical characteristics and abilities, such as above average agility and dexterity.

Work Schedule & Conditions

  • PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
  • May regularly travel to different LSC locations
  • May be required to work weekends and outside of core business hours

Salary

Hiring salary range is $38,761 - $44,575

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
