  • Communicates and collaborates with team members about patient and family experiences and documents interactions.
  • Plans and organizes groups and visitors to support interactions with children, families, and staff.
  • Maintains playroom resources to ensure a safe and accessible learning environment.
  • Provides training and supervision for volunteers to ensure safe interactions.

Overview:Typical schedule: M-F (8:30am-5:00pm)Occasionally will need to work 10:30am-7:00pm shift for special events or on the weekendsJob Description Summary:Schedules, plans, and facilitates activities, programs, and events. Maintains related resources and activity rooms to provide developmental, educational, recreational, and socialization opportunities for children and families.Job Description:Essential Functions:Engages children and families in hands-on activities to foster creativity, socialization, normalization, and playAdapts activities in a group setting during room-to-room visits and in bedside play to meet the identified needs with consideration of developmental, educational, physical, and social needs.Communicates and collaborates with team members regarding patient and family experiences, documents all patient interactions, maintains data related to activity participation, and provides timely communication.Schedules, plans, and organizes groups and visitors to support them in their interactions with children, families, and staff to enhance positive patient experiences.Actively maintains playroom resources to sustain safe, clean, and accessible learning and play environment and management of departmental resources.Provides training and supervision for volunteers to ensure appropriate interaction and maintaining a safe environment.Education Requirement:Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, Education, psychology, or related field, required.Licensure Requirement:(not specified)Certifications:(not specified)Skills:Ability to interact with both children and adults.Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills including, ability to teach both individuals and groups.Strong planning, organizational and decision-making skills.
