Job summary

Pharmacist Coordinator - Employee Pharmacy

Under the general direction of the Director of Pharmacy, the Retail Employee Pharmacist is responsible for reviewing and interpreting physician prescriptions, accurately dispensing medications, providing timely and accurate drug information, and performing well‑reasoned and appropriate clinical interventions to optimize patient medication therapy. Performing business management responsibilities commensurate with needs of the operation.

Job Requirements

Education: Graduate of accredited school of Pharmacy; Bachelor Degree of Pharmacy or Pharm D.

Experience: Retail management experience or equivalent training preferred.

Certifications: Current Arkansas Pharmacist license in good standing or eligible to obtain pharmacist license within 90 days of hire date.

Other: Proven communication skills; able to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel within the organization. Attentive to detail, strong interpersonal skills, fosters a team environment, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision and prioritize work in a fast paced environment. Trained in general use of pharmacy computer systems.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to perform the following: Must have the ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to solve problems and make decisions. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (8‑10 hours per shift). Ability to occasionally bend, squat, and kneel to pick up items from floor or on higher/lower shelves, and ability to lift and carry moderate loads up to 20 pounds with proper body mechanics. Requires repetitive use of hands and fingers (use of computer keyboard), and ability to finger, grasp, and feel objects. Must have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity. Must be able to handle stressful situations with efficiency and composure, operate equipment required to perform pharmacy department tasks, work with numerous or constant interruptions, and perform independent work. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. Ability to concentrate for long periods of time.

Work Environment

Hospital environment to include Emergency Pharmacy. Potential exposure to hazardous or toxic substances (e.g., chemotherapeutic and/or cytotoxic drugs and cleaning solutions).

Pharmacy staff: 4 days a week, 10 hour shifts
