Job summary

Arkansas Children's in Little Rock seeks a Pharmacy Operations Manager for the Acute Care Pharmacy. The role oversees daily operations, ensures safe and effective care within legal limits, and collaborates with the pharmacy leadership team to meet strategic goals.

Requirements include Doctorate of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy (prior to 2000), and 5 years of direct experience with 3 years in leadership. The position is safety sensitive and requires full-time, day shift responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Direct - 5 years with 3 years of leadership experience.
  • Oversees day-to-day operations and staffing within regulatory limits.
  • Drives policy updates and quality improvement in the Pharmacy department.

Responsibilities

  • Manages day to day operations, working with personnel to provide safe and effective care within legal and regulatory limits.
  • Reviews and revises policies as required or necessary to reflect current practice, policy changes, safety requirements, etc.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement in pharmacy operations, safety and efficiency and implements approved changes.
  • Assists in the ongoing development and reporting of Pharmacy department quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) activities.
  • Investigates and evaluates reports of medication errors and follows up with the team to close the loop.
  • Maximize fiscal management determining needs, allocating resources and operating within budget.
  • Hire, terminate, evaluate, coach and train staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary: Fulltime. Monday-Friday. 4 x 10hour shifts or 5 x 8hr shifts.

Additional Information: The Pharmacy Operations Manager oversees daily operations in area of responsibility. This includes coordination of activities related to effective medication use and includes oversight of all inpatient pharmacy medication distribution services. This person also works closely with the pharmacy leadership team to optimize the provision of pharmaceutical care and achievement of other department and hospital strategic goals and objectives.

Required Education: Doctorate of Pharmacy or Bachelor of Pharmacy (if obtained prior to 2000)

Recommended Education: Doctorate

Required Work Experience: Direct - 5 years with 3 years of leadership experience

Description

  7. Hire, terminate, evaluate, coach counsel and train staff.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
