Job summary

Munson Healthcare is seeking a registered nurse to serve as the NMSA supply chain clinical liaison across the Munson Healthcare system. The role focuses on med/surg spend analysis, product standardization, and value analysis project leadership.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of clinical experience with business analysis capabilities, strong Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate with clinicians and suppliers across multiple locations. A valid MI RN license is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Serve as the NMSA supply chain clinical liaison for the Munson Healthcare system.
• Lead value analysis initiatives, analyze med/surg spend, and coordinate product standardization.
• Chairs VA implementation teams and ensures contract conversions and education across sites.
• Monitor contract compliance and coordinate with GPO, Trinity Health, and suppliers.
• Support budgeting for med/surg categories and act as a resource for hospitals and clinics.

A Day inthe Life

• Serves as the NMSA supply chain clinical liaison for the MHC system.

• Analyzesand understandsmed/surgcategoryspend (General Ledger, Materials Management Information System,Trinity Health financial analyses, andother Finance records).

• Supports and manages product standardization and value analysis processes for assigned categories.Analyzes the item file/formulary,identifiesopportunities for product standardization, prepares analyses, tracks and achieves assigned savings targets.Prioritizesstandardization strategies withinproductcategoriestomaximize control/reduction of spend, contract compliance, and standardization of care across the Munson Healthcare system. Thisrequiresactive participationonthe MHC Value Analysis(VA)Clinical Services Team,workingwithclinicians,end-user staff,support departments, suppliers,Trinity Health(Trinity)and our Group Purchasing Organization (GPO).Responsible for providing information to the MHC VA Clinical Services Team on upcoming and outstanding product standardizations and contract conversions, along with theanticipatedsystemfinancial impactfor each.

• Chairs the Value Analysis Implementation Team responsible for successful implementation of approved product conversions across the MHC system, and coordination of product education/training with suppliers,

• Evaluatesand authorizesitem fileadditions, changes,or deletions resulting from product standardization projectsand contract conversions.

• Coordinates, reviews, and analyzes NMSA’s and Munson Healthcare’s participation in and compliance with GPO, Trinity, and private contracts.Manages requests for new clinical supplies.Monitors contract complianceandalertsthe Manager of Strategic Sourcing and the Director of Supply Chain of potential contract compliance issues.

• Identifiessubstitute products to address back orders or alternative suppliers for the same OEM product. This involvesidentifyingitems that do not have a substitute, obtaining substitute samples and pricing, and working with suppliers,purchasing, Trinity, and the GPO.

• Manages VOICE reports relating to clinical supplies.

• CoordinatesNMSA’s Value Analysisactivities withappropriate TrinityHealthsourcing personnel/activities.ParticipatesonTrinityHealthteamsas necessary.

• Provides input to med/surgcategory budgeting for the MHC system.

• FunctionsasresourcetoMHChospitals and clinics for specified categories.

• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

What’s Required

• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan,withaBachelorsof Science inNursingpreferred.

• Five (5)yearsofclinicalexperienceandsufficient experience withor aptitude forbusiness analysis and situations to effectivelyand efficientlyperform business analysesand lead value analysis teams created toaccomplishproductreview,standardization, andproductconversion.

• Strong computer skills witha proficiencyin Microsoft Office applications, particularlyMicrosoftExcel.

• Able tomaintaina system-focused approach while supporting multiple locations: hospital acute carefacilities, facilitiesthat include long term care needs,clinics,and stand-alone locations.

• A valid Operator’s License prior to employment, due to traveling requirements for this position.
