Qualifications

  • RN license with current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Three years of acute care clinical experience.
  • Two years in the specialty area of practice considered a plus.
  • BSN preferred; if not available, enroll in BSN program within 6 months of hire.

The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of clinical activities in a specific nursing unit through the use of hospital and nursing standards. This includes, but is not limited to, use of organizational skills, leadership, planning, implementing, evaluating, and providing patient care.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides and oversees clinical care for a group of patients

providing specific assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education.

  • Organizes and prioritizes clinical responsibilities, provides direct supervision to clinical (RN, CNA, HUC).

rounding, AIDET, and bed-side shift report.

  • Collaborates with Department Director, physicians, and unit to achieve department quality
  • Engages in staff development, arranging regular inservices as well as providing individual instruction and orientation. Coordinates department skills development activities. Collaborates with Department Director and Education Department to identify and address department learning needs.
  • Provides staff recognition through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback.
  • Collaborates with Department Director in coordination of department objectives-financial (effective staffing and charge capture), patient experience (HCAHPS and outpatient measures), quality and safety, and staff and physician satisfaction and engagement.
  • Assists Department Director with human resource management by participating in the interview and hiring process, coordinating unit-based orientation, editing time and attendance, providing input for annual performance appraisals and coaching/disciplinary
  • Promotes Shared Governance as an active member of the Unit-Based

Consistently looks at current processes and procedures and areas of improvement.

  • Assists in researching and analyzing incident reports.
  • Collaborates in identifying opportunities for and carrying out performance improvement and Lean activities. Collaborates in the development and maintenance of department clinical policies and procedures.
  • Maintains regular communication with the department

  • Provides department leadership in the absences of the Department

Required Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. BSN preferred. If no

BSN upon hire, will enroll in program within 6 months of hire

Required Licenses:
  • Registered Nurse
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
Required Work Experience:
  • Minimum of three (3) years clinical in acute care. Minimum of

two (2) years in the specialty area of practice
