Position Information

Working Title: Coordinator, Athletic Compliance

Position Status: Regular

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:15 am – 4:30 pm with some evenings and weekends as needed throughout the year.

Hours per Week: 37.5 hours, additional hours as needed throughout the year

Months per Year: 12

Purpose of Position: To assist in the administration of financial and athletic aid with all student-athletes and oversee NCAA compliance within the financial aid office.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Input all athletic scholarships into the financial aid software, SIGMA ProSam.
  2. Input all monthly scholarships for payment to student-athletes.
  3. Review and process academic scholarships received by student-athletes and determine if aid is considered countable or non-countable aid as defined by the NCAA.
  4. Input student-athlete book scholarships each term and manually pay the scholarship through SIGMA ProSam.
  5. Serve as liaison for the Office of Student Financial Assistance with the student-athlete, the Office of Intercollegiate Athletics, the Office of the Registrar, and Student Account Services.
  6. Review on an ongoing basis all financial aid and athletic aid awarded to student-athletes.
  7. Input and review of athletic aid into SIGMA ProSam, interpreting the student-athlete’s bill as necessary.
  8. Review and analyze the squad list equivalency for NCAA compliance.
  9. Work with Information Technology to develop reports and make system modifications as needed.
  10. Stay informed of all NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to athletic-related financial aid.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience required.
  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks, be well-organized, and detail-oriented. Self-starter with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially with SIGMA ProSam and NCAA Compliance.
  • Ability to make independent judgments and accept responsibility for decisions.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, motivated by own initiative.
