Job summary

The New York City Police Department Human Resources Division, Pre-Employment Services Unit seeks one Community Coordinator to assist with Department operations. The selected candidate will perform duties including recruitment events representation, candidate screening, and liaison with colleges and universities for information about recruitment events.

The role also involves managing the recruitment events calendar, posting job advertisements online and in print media, vetting resumes,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and two years of community work or related experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent plus six years of related experience.
  • Education/experience equivalent to the above with at least one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Attend recruitment and networking events representing the NYPD.
  • Screen potential candidates for employment.
  • Act as the liaison to Colleges and Universities for upcoming recruitment events.
  • Manage calendar of recruitment events.
  • Preparing and posting job advertisements online and in print media.
  • Vet resumes.
  • Perform recruitment duties such as scheduling interviews, answering phone calls, and monitoring emails.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Education

Bachelor's degree + 2 years community work experience
High school diploma + 6 years community work experience
Education/experience equivalent to 1 or 2 with 1 year experience

HOURS/SHIFT:M-F; 9AM-5PMADDITIONAL INFORMATION:In compliance with federal Law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.

Requirements

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or 2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or 3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above. Experienced (non-manager)
