Job summary

Bay Systems Consulting Inc. seeks a Water Systems Engineer to design, operate, and maintain cooling water infrastructure for a world-class research facility.

You will lead system architectures, P&IDs, and hydraulic analyses to ensure reliability and safety of process water systems across accelerator and laboratory interfaces. The role emphasizes supervision of operations, preventive maintenance, and coordination with multiple technical groups to meet performance, environmental, and safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 8+ years of professional engineering experience with industrial water systems.
• Experience with LCW/DI water systems, pumps, heat exchangers, and related controls.
• Ability to interpret drawings, P&IDs, and implement system improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of cooling water systems for facilities and operations.
• Develop system architectures, P&IDs, flow diagrams, and equipment specs.
• Perform heat transfer, fluid flow, and water quality analyses.
• Coordinate integration with accelerator, beamline, HVAC, and facility utilities.
