Job summary

ADP, Inc. seeks a Water Systems Engineer in Berkeley, CA to design, operate, and maintain critical cooling water systems for ALS-U and ongoing ALS operations.

The role requires coordinating with engineering, facilities, operations, installation, controls, EH&S and scientific staff to ensure reliability, safety, and high uptime. Responsibilities include developing system architectures, P&IDs, and equipment specifications; supervising procurement of pumps, heat exchangers, and water treatment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and extensive experience in industrial water systems.
• Proven ability to design, operate, and maintain LCW/DI water systems and related infrastructure.
• Experience with pumps, heat exchangers, water treatment, and associated controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and engineering of cooling water systems for ALS-U and operations.
• Develop system architectures, P&IDs, flow diagrams, and equipment specs.
• Oversee procurement of pumps, heat exchangers, filtration, and piping.
• Coordinate integration with accelerator, beamline, HVAC, and facility utilities.
• Develop PM schedules and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and chemical issues.
