Job summary

Ocean Mist Farms is seeking a Cooling Operations Supervisor in Castroville, CA to manage daily activities across Receiving and Shipping, Cooling, and the Carton Yard. You will supervise staff, ensure proper temperature control, and coordinate with internal teams for timely shipments.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in agricultural cooling/shipping, 1 year of supervisory experience, and strong communication and computer skills; travel to Coachella region may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; safety training encouraged.
• Minimum 5 years in agricultural cooling, receiving, and shipping ops.
• Minimum 1 year supervisory experience leading teams.
• ASTI certification preferred; forklift cert preferred.
• Strong math, reading, and communication skills.
• Willing to rotate schedule and travel to Coachella facility as needed.
• Proficient in MS Word & Excel; advanced proficiency in Famous software.

Responsibilities

• Oversee receiving operations and staff training across shifts.
• Coordinate shipping activities; ensure accurate records and temperature tracking.
• Supervise cooling operations; optimize cooling methods and staffing.
• Maintain relationships with growers and resolve operational issues.
• Ensure safety, food safety, and accurate documentation.
