Job summary

Ocean Mist in Castroville, CA, is seeking a Cooling Operations Supervisor to oversee the daily workflow across Receiving, Shipping, and Cooling. You will manage temperature controls, ensure accurate intake, and guide the Carton Yard and related teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; safety training in industry practices encouraged.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in agricultural cooling, receiving, and shipping operations.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience with the ability to lead and train teams.
• ASTI Certification preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred, with 2-3 years of forklift experience.
• Strong math, reading, and communication skills.
• Available to work a monthly rotating schedule, including morning and evening shifts.
• Willing to travel to Coachella, CA facility and growing regions as needed.
• Working knowledge of MS Word & Excel; advanced computer proficiency, particularly in Famous software.
• 10-key calculator by touch and other clerical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations across Receiving and Shipping, Cooling, and the Carton Yard.
• Ensure accurate intake and temperature management of product and outbound shipments.
• Supervise staff and monitor compliance with food safety and safety standards.
• Rotate approximately one month at a time through Receiving and Shipping, Cooling, and Carton Yard.
• Schedule and train staff in receiving, shipping, and cooling operations.
• Ensure proper use of temperature recorders and Phytosanitary Certificate entries.
• Monitor inventory and maintain accurate time and attendance records.
• Coordinate with departments and customers to support daily operations.
