Job summary

Yellowstone National Park, operated by Xanterra Travel Collection, is seeking cooks for seasonal roles in its Food & Beverage team. Responsibilities include assisting the restaurant Chef and Sous Chef in basic food prep, and preparing meals for employee dining per set recipes.

Staff housing and meals are provided at low cost, with park passes and extensive staff perks. Pay ranges from $19.00 to $22.50 per hour, with a typical 40-hour, 5-day schedule.

Qualifications

• 6 months cook experience for entry cook position.
• 6 months to 2 years cook experience for intermediate level cook position.
• 3 years cook experience for advanced level cook position.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and commit food specifications to memory.
• Maintain sanitation requirements including temperature control and record keeping.
• Work in various kitchen areas (ala carte, employee dining, quick service).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, set up, service, clean up, and restock cooks line and prep areas.
• Adhere to sanitation requirements including product rotation and temperature control.

We operate 47 dining venues, including dining rooms, fast-casual, cafeterias, bars, employee facilities, delis and snack shops. It’s high volume, fast-paced and fun! Almost half of the Yellowstone summer staff work for the Food and Beverage Operation! Job Summary:

• As a Cook, you would be responsible for assisting the restaurant Chef and/or Sous Chef in all basic food preparation, performing cooking functions or prep production.
• As an Employee Dining Room Cook, you would be responsible for preparation of meals and feeding our employees according to set recipes. The feeding of our staff is one of our highest priorities.

The Details:

Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: Mid June - Early November
Pay: $19.00/hour - $22.50/hour

Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

• Job duties of the position vary by location and function. Placement will be in one of the following areas - ala carte operation, employee dining operation or a quick service operation.

• Work quickly, efficiently, and safely with all kitchen equipment.
• Organize and prioritize under pressure while maintaining a pleasant demeanor.

Physical Requirements include:

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, approximately 8 hours.
• Must be able to walk for long periods of time.
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Must be able to bend, stretch and reach for extended periods of time.
