Job summary

Xanterra Travel Collection in Yellowstone National Park is seeking a Kitchen Equipment Technician for our Engineering team. You will diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, refrigeration, and steam systems for commercial kitchen equipment, while performing preventive maintenance to ensure safety and reliability.

The role uses CMMS to track and close work orders, supports Food & Beverage staff with equipment training, and follows OSHA/NFPA standards.

Qualifications

• Manufacturer training or certifications for commercial kitchen equipment.
• Experience with commercial refrigeration, refrigerant recovery, and EPA Section 608.
• Experience in hospitality, institutional kitchens, or remote/park environments.
• Familiarity with CMMS and asset management best practices.
• Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, mechanical, refrigeration, and steam systems for commercial kitchen equipment.
• Perform and document scheduled maintenance tasks; ensure equipment reliability and compliance.
• Track, update, and close work orders in the CMMS.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures for kitchen facilities and equipment.
• Help familiarize Food & Beverage staff with proper equipment use and care.
• Follow OSHA/NFPA standards; identify and correct unsafe practices; adhere to company safety programs.
• Select and use appropriate tools and materials safely and efficiently.
• Incorporate Xanterra’s environmental and sustainability initiatives into daily work.
• Maintain clear, courteous communication and a professional appearance.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned, including occasional overtime or night work.

Job Summary:

The Kitchen Equipment Technician performs troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and seasonal opening/closing of commercial kitchen equipment and systems in Xanterra-operated facilities. The role ensures safe operations, equipment reliability, and compliance with relevant codes while supporting F&A teams through equipment familiarization and training. Work is tracked and reported using the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

The Details:

• Position Type: Seasonal
• Season Dates: July 2026 - November 2026
• Pay: $23.70 - $24.35/hour
• Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

• Willingness to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts.

Physical Requirements include:

• Ability to work in confined spaces and comply with respiratory protection regulations.
• Walk up to 0.5 miles over uneven terrain; climb stairs and ladders; work in varied weather conditions at elevations above 6,000 ft.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Differentiate colors for water testing.
• Perform heavy labor outdoors.
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
