Job summary

Berkotfoods in Joliet, IL is hiring a production worker to operate bakery equipment, package finished products, and help meet daily production goals. You will follow safety procedures, monitor quality, and work with the commissary team to maintain shipping schedules.

This role requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs, work in refrigerated environments, and stand for long periods. Starting pay is $15 per hour with higher pay possible based on experience and ACA/IL Paid Leave benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate commercial bakery equipment, including mixers, ovens, dough sheeters, and packaging equipment, following all safety procedures.
• Package, label, and prepare finished products for distribution to retail store locations.
• Monitor product quality throughout the production process, ensuring consistency in taste, appearance, and freshness.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards, including GMPs.
• Maintain accurate production, packaging, and inventory records as required.
• Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, utensils, and production areas.
• Assist with receiving, rotating, and storing ingredients and packaging materials using FIFO inventory practices.
• Report equipment malfunctions, product concerns, or safety hazards to a supervisor promptly.
• Work collaboratively with commissary team members to meet daily production goals and shipping deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support commissary operations.

Salary Range: $15.00 To $17.00 Hourly

• Report equipment malfunctions, product concerns, or safety hazards to a supervisor promptly.
• Work collaboratively with commissary team members to meet daily production goals and shipping deadlines.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support commissary operations.

Pay Rate: Starting at $15 per hour. Higher pay available depending on experience.
