Job summary

Great Western Dining Service is seeking a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions, move deftly in the kitchen, and multitask. They must be adept with various ingredients and cooking techniques.

Hours: Sat-Sun 9am-1pm & 3-7pm, plus Mon-Wed 5:30am - 1:30pm. Join a team focused on quality, safety, and teamwork in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as cook.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods.
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Very good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc).
• Prepare, portion, cook food items for various meal periods or special events.
• Ability to follow basic recipes and production information.
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served.
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
• Follow all company HACCP and safety policies.
