Job summary

Great Western Dining Service at our Southeast Community College - Lincoln location is seeking a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi‑tasking.

Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important. Full Time, Wednesday - Sunday 1:00pm - 8:00pm. The successful candidate will have proven cooking experience, knowledge of techniques, and the ability to work

Qualifications

• Proven experience as cook.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.).
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment.
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Very good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Prepare, portion, cook food items for various meal periods or special events
• Ability to follow basic recipes and production information
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Follow all company HACCP and safety policies
