Great Western Dining Service at our Western Texas College location is seeking a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals. The role requires following instructions, moving efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen, and multitasking across stations.

The position is Part Time, Monday through Friday, 9am to 3pm, with responsibilities including food preparation, portioning, and presentation. We hire for teamwork, safety, and quality in every dish.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.

• Follow basic recipes and production information.
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before serving.
• Maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment.
• Store food and other items properly.
• Follow HACCP and safety policies.

Great Western Dining Service at our Western Texas College location is looking for a skilled Cook to prepare delicious meals. An excellent cook must be able to follow instructions. They must be deft in moving around the kitchen and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and cooking techniques is important.

Part Time, Mon - Fri 9am - 3pm

Responsibilities:

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
• Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat etc.)
• Prepare, portion, cook food items for various meal periods or special events
• Ability to follow basic recipes and production information
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Follow all company HACCP and safety policies

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven experience as cook
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
• Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Very good communication skills
