Job summary

Live Well Healthcare Solutions is seeking a talented Cook to join the Walter Reed Post Acute nursing facility team. The role focuses on high-volume meal prep, following standardized recipes to deliver nutritious daily meals for residents.

You will ensure plating, presentation, kitchen sanitation, inventory, and support the Dietary Manager during absences. Flexibility for special events and weekend shifts is required to maintain seamless service for residents and families.

Qualifications

• Talented Cook with experience in high-volume culinary operations.
• Ability to follow standardized recipes and ensure nutritious meals.
• Adherence to kitchen sanitation standards and safety practices.
• Experience with inventory, stock rotation, and recipe management.
• Willingness to handle special events and adapt to dietary requirements.
• Must be available to work every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation & Culinary Excellence: accurately prepare, portion, and cook a variety of nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner following standardized recipes.
• Plating & Presentation: plate and garnish all cooked items to ensure an attractive menu presentation.
• Leadership Support: act as a liaison for the Dietary Manager during their absence to ensure seamless meal prep and delivery.
• Kitchen Sanitation: maintain high sanitation standards by thoroughly cleaning the kitchen and all culinary equipment before and after food service.
• Inventory & Recipe Management: manage inventory, handle stock rotation, assist with purchasing, and ensure recipe development and compliance.
• Special Events: flexibly handle last‑minute culinary requests for special events and facility functions.
