Snelling Staffing is hiring cooks for multiple dining locations at the University of Kentucky campus in Lexington, KY. We are filling a large number of cook positions with a variety of shifts, including morning, day, afternoon, evening, weekday, and weekend options.

Assignments may include large campus dining halls, quick-service venues, and other UK food-service operations. Your location and reporting instructions will be provided based on the matched position.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking or food-service experience preferred.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Able to follow recipes and portion guidelines.
• Reliable transportation to the University of Kentucky campus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to recipes and standards.
• Operate grills, fryers, ovens, stovetops, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
• Prepare ingredients and assist with food preparation.
• Follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and production requirements.
• Ensure food is prepared safely, consistently, and on time.
• Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen and workstations.
• Stocking and organizing kitchen areas.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen and food-prep area.
• Cleaning equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
• Following food safety and workplace safety procedures.
• Work with other cooks and food-service team members during busy meal periods.
• Assist with opening, closing, and general kitchen duties as needed.

Pay: $17.00/hour

Snelling Staffing is hiring Cooks for multiple dining locations throughout the University of Kentucky campus.

We are currently filling a large number of Cook positions with a wide variety of schedules available. Opportunities include morning, day, afternoon, evening, weekday, and weekend schedules at several different UK campus dining facilities.

What You'll Do

Depending on your assigned dining location, responsibilities may include:

• Preparing and cooking a variety of food items according to established recipes and standards

• Operating grills, fryers, ovens, stovetops, and other commercial kitchen equipment

• Preparing ingredients and assisting with food preparation

• Following recipes, portioning guidelines, and production requirements

• Ensuring food is prepared safely, consistently, and on time

• Maintaining appropriate food temperatures and quality standards

• Stocking and organizing kitchen workstations

• Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen and food-preparation area

• Cleaning equipment, utensils, and work surfaces

• Following food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures

• Working alongside other cooks and food-service team members during busy meal periods

• Assisting with opening, closing, and general kitchen duties as needed

Multiple UK Campus Locations

Cook opportunities are available at several dining facilities throughout the University of Kentucky campus in Lexington.

Assignments may include large campus dining halls, quick-service restaurants, and other UK food-service operations.

Your specific work location and reporting instructions will be provided based on the position you're matched with.

What We're Looking For

• Previous cooking, restaurant, cafeteria, catering, or commercial kitchen experience preferred

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment

• Ability to follow recipes and food-preparation instructions

• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices

• Dependable and punctual

• Able to work effectively as part of a team

• Comfortable standing and remaining active throughout the shift

• Able to safely use commercial kitchen equipment

• Reliable transportation to the University of Kentucky campus

Experience as a line cook, prep cook, grill cook, restaurant cook, cafeteria cook, catering cook, or kitchen team member may be a good fit for these opportunities.
