Job summary

Snelling Staffing is hiring cooks for multiple dining locations at the University of Kentucky campus in Lexington, KY. We are filling a large number of cook positions with a variety of shifts, including morning, day, afternoon, evening, weekday, and weekend options.

Assignments may include large campus dining halls, quick-service venues, and other UK food-service operations. Your location and reporting instructions will be provided based on the matched position.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking or food-service experience preferred.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Able to follow recipes and portion guidelines.
• Reliable transportation to the University of Kentucky campus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook a variety of food items according to recipes and standards.
• Operate grills, fryers, ovens, stovetops, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
• Prepare ingredients and assist with food preparation.
• Follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and production requirements.
• Ensure food is prepared safely, consistently, and on time.
• Maintain clean and sanitary kitchen and workstations.
• Stocking and organizing kitchen areas.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen and food-prep area.
• Cleaning equipment, utensils, and work surfaces.
• Following food safety and workplace safety procedures.
• Work with other cooks and food-service team members during busy meal periods.
• Assist with opening, closing, and general kitchen duties as needed.
