Job summary

Macomb Community College is seeking a Cook Supervisor to uphold consistent quality and culinary experience while delivering exceptional customer service. The role includes supervising concessions during shows, counting draws, making deposits, and inventorying products.

Responsibilities emphasize quality control, recipe adherence, sanitation, and independent operation at assigned stations, with a focus on a positive customer experience and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years cooking experience preferred.
  • Must possess use of all kitchen equipment and knife handling skills.
  • Serve Safe and Allergen Certification preferred.
  • Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings and weekends.

  • Oversee presentation and adherence to recipes.

Reporting To: Timothy Christensen

Compensation: $20.00 - $24.00 / hour

Description

Responsible for creating a consistent quality product and culinary experience, while also providing exceptional customer service, presentation, and a clean and safe eating environment.

This role will also require supervising concessions during shows, counting draws, making deposits, and inventorying product.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Working knowledge about food handling, food sanitation, and safety
  • 1 -3 years previous cooking experience preferred
  • Must possess use of all kitchen equipment and report any deficiencies including knife handling skills and cooking techniques such as braising, sauté, sear and grill
  • Must possess proper recipe conversion and measuring
  • Serve Safe and Allergen Certification preferred
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings and weekends
  • In process or completion of culinary education preferred
