Job summary

PENN Entertainment, Inc. is seeking a kitchen, line, or prep staff member to join our casino operations. You will prepare, assemble, and present menu items, coordinate with the Sous Chef, and maintain cleanliness and food safety standards across all lines.

The role requires prior kitchen experience, English proficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This is a full-time, on-site position at our casino facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–2 years of kitchen experience or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals.
• Must qualify for a license with Pennsylvania State Racing Commission and meet Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board credentialing requirements.
• Events on casino floor may require a non-gaming credential.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, expedites, monitors, replenishes, and transports meats, vegetables, soups, sauces and other food items per production sheets.
• Reports to Sous Chef at start of shift for instructions on specials or menu changes.
• Arranges mise en place according to posted instructions and menu requirements.
• Communicates station needs, waste and discrepancies with supervisor.
• Prepares and presents menu items according to recipe and photos.
• Assists in other kitchen areas as directed by Sous Chef.
• Interacts with guests and coworkers in a professional, courteous manner.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area at all times.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Must have a high School Diploma or GED.
• One to two years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have the ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from guests.
• Must have the ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and manuals.
• Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures.
• Must have the ability to perform basic math skills.
• Must have the ability to identify problems, collect data, analyze, and draw valid conclusions.
• Must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions (i.e., written, verbal, etc.).
• Must qualify for a license with the Pennsylvania State Racing Commission and meet any credentialing requirements of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
• Working events on the casino floor will require an individual to obtain a non-gaming credential.
