The Cypress of Charlotte is seeking a hospitality-focused Cook to join our Culinary Services team in Charlotte, NC. This role covers full-scope production cooking across all kitchen stations and requires flexibility to cover varied shifts.

Qualifications include a SERVSafe certification, 3+ years of cook experience, and strong ability to read recipes and maintain quality. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a sign-on bonus for this full-time position.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution.

Responsabilités

• Work all stations in the kitchen and run the assigned station during the shift.
• Follow specifications, stock food as needed, and maintain plate presentation.
• Prepare soups, stocks, sauces; braise and roast per recipes.
• Prepare and serve sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items per recipes.
• Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, ensuring quality and appearance.
• Determine amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and obtain them in time.

Position: Cook - SIGN ON BONUS, Full-Time

Schedule: Varies, must be flexible to work the following shifts:

• Monday - Saturday: 7:00 am - 3:00 pm & 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm
• Sundays: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm
• Must be able to work weekends

Pay: $20.00 - $22.51 per hour + $1,500 SIGN ON BONUS!

Position Summary:

The Cypress of Charlotte is recruiting for a hospitality focused Cook to join our team! This position is responsible for full-scope, hands on production cooking in the Culinary Services Department.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ability to work all stations in the kitchen.
• Efficiently runs assigned station during the shift, follow all specs, and stock food as needed.
• Maintains the quality of food and plate presentation.
• Prepares all soups, stocks, sauces; boils, braises and roasts items as per standardized recipes.
• Prepares and serves all sautéed, fried, grilled, steamed and baked items as per standardized recipes.
• Prepares or directs the preparation of all food served, following standard recipes and special diet orders. Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours, so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food is preserved.
• Determines amount and type of food and supplies required for daily menus and seeing that supplies are obtained from storage areas in adequate time for meal production.

Qualifications:

• SERVSafe Certification preferred.
• Experience in hospital or senior living preferred.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic and understand measurements and conversions.
• A minimum of three years’ experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club or similar institution.
• Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications and standards.
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment operations and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
• Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and follow oral and writteninstructions in English.
