Job summary

Miss J's Cafe is seeking a Cook & Server to deliver excellent customer service, handle orders and payments, and help maintain a clean, organized dining area. The role involves greeting customers, assisting with menu choices, and collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.

Ideal candidates have prior customer service experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a busy diner setting. Weekend and evening availability preferred; weekly pay is offered.

• Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or diner setting.
• Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash transactions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, approachable demeanor with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and flexible with hours, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.
• Answer inquiries and assist with menu choices; provide recommendations when needed.
• Process orders and payments accurately and efficiently.
• Resolve customer concerns in a professional, courteous manner.
• Ensure a positive dining experience with outstanding service.
• Operate the cash register and handle cash, cards, and receipts.
• Enter orders accurately and relay details to kitchen staff.
• Assist with packaging takeout orders and maintaining a clean register area.
• Maintain cleanliness of dining and register areas; stock supplies.
• Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management for smooth operations.
• Inform customers about promotions and upsell desserts, drinks, or sides.
