Job summary

Miss J’s Cafe is seeking a Cook & Server to deliver excellent customer service, process orders accurately, and assist in maintaining a clean, efficient diner environment in Jackson, OH. You will greet guests, help with menu selections, handle payments, and work with kitchen staff to ensure timely service.

Ideal candidates have prior customer service experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask during busy shifts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in a restaurant or diner setting.
• Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash transactions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, approachable demeanor with a focus on customer satisfaction.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be reliable, punctual, and flexible with hours, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Assist with menu choices and provide recommendations.
• Process orders and payments accurately.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally.
• Maintain a clean and organized service area.
• Operate the cash register and balance cash drawer.
• Enter orders accurately into the system and communicate special requests to kitchen staff.
• Ensure timely delivery of orders and assist with packaging takeout.
