Job Overview

A Bloomingdale's Cook Professional is essential to the customer experience, helping to deliver our unique store environment. Whether serving our famous frozen yogurt or meeting friends for a sit-down meal, our Cook Professionals provide an exceptional culinary experience through ingredient selection, food preparation, and presentation standards. Our restaurants offer creative culinary dishes that ensure a unique dining experience.

Essential Functions

• Partner with manager to exploit current culinary trends and implement new, on-brand initiatives
• Collaborate with manager to create menus for special events as needed
• Work with Restaurant Manager to ensure proper communication with staff
• Be a motivating presence and leader to continually improve and exceed customer expectations

Competencies

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• 1-2 years of direct experience
• Ability to read and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of standing/walking around the store or department
• Reaching, crouching, kneeling, and stooping may be involved
• Working in a warm kitchen environment may be required
• Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs
