Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a chef-focused team member for our kitchen in Huntersville, NC. You will set up and stock stations, prepare foods, and ensure items meet quality and guest specifications.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and fast, high-quality service. You will work with knives, mixers, and standard kitchen equipment to produce meats, seafood, vegetables, and sauces, while maintaining a clean station and following Head Chef guidance.

Qualifications

• Previous food preparation experience is helpful but not required.
• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and direction.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).
• Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, dairy and other food items using knives, electric mixers, immersion blenders, food processors, scales, and portion bags.
• Processes prepared foods for service using standard kitchen equipment.
• Assure that each item is cooked to the Chef and guest’s specifications.
• Garnish each dish properly.
• Adhere to instructions provided by the Head Chef, Lowes Foods manuals, and documentation.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation area including tables, shelves, cooking equipment, prep equipment, and storage equipment both during and after service.
• Stock inventory appropriately and according to established standards and systems.
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in a high quality and timely fashion.
• Assumes responsibility for quality, food safety/sanitation and timeliness of products served.
• Maintain safety and sanitation throughout the department according to Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guests service consistent with our established Purpose, Priorities, and Service Standards.
• Ensure the quality of product for sale meets Lowes Foods standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the management staff.
