Job Summary and Qualifications

The Food and Nutrition Services Cook assists in the preparation of cooked foods for our patients, visitors and colleagues. The Line Cook provides food that is safe, unadulterated, attractive, and prepared within the guidelines of the Texas Department of Health, Medicare and JCAHO. The hospital dining schedule features hours and shifts that create a great work-life balance. Your food service experience and commitment to service, safety and professionalism will contribute to a positive experience for our patients, visitors and colleagues.

What You Will Do In This Role

• You will prepare, season and cook food for hospital patients, employees and visitors.
• You will practice excellent food safety and sanitation procedures while working within the requirements of regulatory agencies.
• You will assist with special events and catering functions.
• You will serve on the tray line and work as salad/sandwich cook and grill cook when needed.

What qualifications you will need:

• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Food Safety Certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
