Job Description

The PRN-Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking food according to recipes and production sheets, ensuring quality and safety standards are met. Key duties include reviewing production sheets, planning cooking schedules, preparing food items, maintaining a clean work environment, and assisting with trayline operations.

Essential Job Duties
  • Review production sheets and adjust food preparation accordingly. Complete prep work for the next day.
  • Plan cooking schedules with the production manager to ensure timely food readiness.
  • Prepare, wash, trim, cook, and season food items using proper handling techniques.
  • Measure and mix ingredients with various kitchen utensils and equipment to make sauces, soups, stews, casseroles, and desserts.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the cooking area during and after shifts, wash hands frequently, and wear proper hair coverings.
  • Work on trayline as assigned, complete all tasks efficiently, and respond adaptively to workload changes.
  • Store and utilize leftovers per departmental policies.
  • Attend meetings and in-service trainings.
Secondary Job Duties
  • Procure food from storage areas.
  • Assist with catering and cleaning projects.
  • Help train assistants as needed.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience in quantity food production preferred.
