We are seeking a PRN Cook to join our team!

Hospital Details

SKY REHAB, located in Bowling Green, KY, is a 60-bed inpatient rehab facility providing rehabilitative services to individuals recovering from disabilities caused by injuries or illnesses. We help our patients regain their physical or cognitive abilities so they can return home at their highest level of independence. As a smaller, specialized hospital, we offer a fast-paced and friendly work environment where you can build strong relationships with patients and their families. SKY Rehab Hospital is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for services including Inpatient Rehabilitation (Adults, Adolescents, and Children), Brain Injury Specialty Program (Adults), and Stroke Specialty Program (Adults). Our hospital is also accredited by The Joint Commission.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of duties necessary for the operation of a hospital food service department. Maintains high standards of food quality, nutritional value, sanitation, safety, and presentation of food in an appealing manner.

Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Two (2) years of experience as a cook may be considered in lieu of education.
• Food handling certification as required by State regulations.

Additional Qualifications/Skills

• Culinary arts training preferred.
• Two (2) years of food service experience preferred, including at least one (1) year in an institutional setting.
• Therapeutic Diet experience preferred.
• Ability to project a professional image.
• Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
• Working knowledge of computer and software applications used in job functions.
• Freedom from illegal drug use and effects of substance use in the workplace.
