Job Summary and Qualifications

We are currently recruiting for a Cook to join our team! As a Cook, you will perform various tasks to facilitate food services and nutrition support for patients, employees, and visitors.

We seek a candidate who values patient care and is eager to contribute. We encourage you to apply now!

What you will do in this role:

  • Prepare, season, and cook food for patients, staff, visitors, and special events.
  • Review menus to determine types and quantities of food needed.
  • Prepare quality food in sufficient quantities to meet service requirements.
  • Coordinate preparation timing to meet service schedules.
  • Follow standardized recipes and portion controls to prevent waste and control costs.
  • Maintain sanitation and care of equipment in the production area.
  • Adhere to sanitation and safety standards (HACCP).
  • Assist in ordering supplies.
  • Supervise and give directions to food preparation personnel.
  • Orient and mentor new staff members.

What Qualifications you will need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Formal training in food preparation preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation principles.
  • Understanding of nutrition, especially for modified diets.
  • At least one year of experience in food service, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform related tasks.
