Job Summary

Responsible for maintaining, setting up, food production, and quality control of all meat, fish, fowl, and other food items prepared on the front-line station.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Prepare daily preparation lists for production.
  2. Follow recipes accurately using math skills.
  3. Prepare all broiled and sautéed food items according to standard recipes and guest checks, ensuring product consistency; involves transporting heavy food products.
  4. Visually inspect, select, and use only high-standard food items in all menu preparations.
  5. Check and control proper storage of products, monitor portion control, especially for specific cuts of meat, to maintain quality.
  6. Keep refrigeration, equipment, and storage areas clean and compliant with health regulations.
  7. Maintain logs for cooling, heating, and temperature controls.
  8. Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.
  9. Follow safety and security protocols, know fire prevention and emergency procedures.
  10. Use protective equipment and report unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, or property damage.
  11. Create a safe work environment by following safety rules.
  12. Maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance as per the team member handbook.
  13. Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
  14. Assist other kitchen staff as needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Hold a current Food Handler Card.
  • Preferably have 2 years of cooking experience, especially broiler cooking.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Good knowledge of broiler and sauté cooking techniques.
  • Understanding of sanitation standards.
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, broilers, slicers, steamers, kettles, etc.
  • Basic math skills for recipes and portioning.
  • Basic English language skills for communication and understanding instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow product labeling instructions for safety.
  • Ability to operate beverage equipment like coffee makers.
Physical Demands
  • Lift or move goods weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Manual dexterity for using kitchen tools and equipment.
  • Work in extreme temperatures and confined spaces.
  • Perform frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
