Job Description

Omni PGA Frisco is seeking a Banquets Cook 3 to join our team. Our resort will provide North Texas with 127,000 square feet of event space, 13 new food and beverage outlets, a luxurious spa, and a full entertainment district. Featuring two championship 18-hole golf courses and a third short course, we offer exceptional options for dining, events, and entertainment.

The Banquets Cook 3 will ensure food is prepared according to menu specifications in a timely and safe manner. Work effectively with all kitchen personnel and collaborate with leaders to deliver memorable culinary experiences with great flavors.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare and cook food, perform related culinary functions, and season food appropriately.
  2. Demonstrate strong culinary skills with an intermediate proficiency in culinary functions.
  3. Work with minimal supervision and some guidance, depending on task complexity.
  4. Understand various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  5. Utilize and prepare food with products and ingredients in current use in the kitchen.
  6. Apply traditional knife skills consistently.
  7. Move and cover different stations following Omni and Chef standards.
  8. Perform job functions with attention to detail, speed, and accuracy.
  9. Execute soups and sauces with minimal supervision.
  10. Prioritize, organize, and follow through on tasks.
  11. Work well under pressure to meet production schedules and guest expectations.
  12. Maintain knowledge of sanitation standards and health regulations.
  13. Assist in setting up and stocking stations with necessary supplies and prep lists.
  14. Complete opening and closing checklists.
  15. Set up workstation with required mise en place, tools, and equipment.
  16. Maintain professionalism and positive attitude with coworkers and guests.
  17. Follow recipes and prep lists accurately.
  18. Ensure food quality and timely service.
  19. Communicate needs during busy periods to ensure service quality.
  20. Move, bend, lift, and carry objects up to 40 pounds; stand or walk for extended periods.

Qualifications

  1. Good knowledge of food handling, preparation, and cooking techniques.
  2. Basic knife skills and ability to read and follow recipes.
  3. Basic math skills for measurements and recipe adjustments.
  4. Prior experience in high-volume hotel, resort, or restaurant environment (preferably 1 year).
  5. Knowledge of sanitation standards; ServeSafe certification preferred.
  6. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays.
  7. Professional appearance and attitude.
  8. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for long periods.
