The Emily Program in Saint Paul, MN seeks a part-time Cook to support recovery-focused meals. You will work 20 hours weekly, Monday to Wednesday, with shifts 9a-6p in a temporary role of about three months.

You will prepare meals per standardized menus, follow therapeutic diets, and collaborate with culinary and nutrition teams to ensure safe, nourishing offerings for clients. Responsibilities include maintaining kitchen organization, adhering to food safety standards, and supporting inventory

Qualifications

  • 1 year of cooking experience in a medium-volume kitchen.
  • Able to read and interpret dietary instructions.
  • 1 year of healthcare culinary service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food according to menus, recipes, portions, and nutrition orders.
  • Ensure practices and prepared foods comply with food code and policies.
  • Collaborate with culinary and nutrition teams for safety and accuracy.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness in culinary and dining areas.
  • Ensure punctuality and attendance for shifts, prioritizing client care.
  • Provide coverage for other culinary roles when needed.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with clients and support networks.
  • Assist with inventory management, ordering, receiving, and labeling.
  • Attend meetings and complete required trainings within timeframes.

Position Overview

As the Cook, you will be an essential part of the healing journey, preparing and serving food that supports eating disorder recovery. Collaborating closely with the culinary and nutrition teams, you'll prepare high-quality dishes according to standardized menus and recipes, designed not only for nourishment but to meet the specific needs of each client’s recovery. Your role goes beyond traditional cooking—every meal is an opportunity to restore balance, support healing, and help clients regain physical and mental well-being.

Schedule
  • 20 hours/week
  • Monday-Wednesday: shifts between hours of 9a-6p
  • Temp role, ~ 3 months
Compensation Disclosure
  • Starting hourly range between $20.00 - 24.00

Final Compensation offered will be within pay range based on qualifications/experience met for the position

How Cooks Empower Recovery
  • Prepare andservefood/beverages according to standardized menus, recipes, portions, and nutrition orders.

  • Maintain professional boundaries with clients and their communities of support (e.g., parents, partners).
  • Assistwithinventory management, ordering, receiving, and labeling,as assigned.
  • Attend regularly scheduled meetings as assigned.
  • Complete required Learning and Development assignments and policy reviews within settimeframes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Professional Qualifications:
  • 1year of cooking experience in a medium-volume kitchen.
  • Able to read and interpret dietary instructions.
  • 1 year of healthcare culinary service experience, including adherence to standardized menus, recipes, and therapeutic diets preferred.
Other Qualifications:
  • Valid driver’s license and authorization to drive preferred.
  • Employees at Inpatient/Residential sitesin MN, OH, and WAare required tohave a current Basic Life Support certification within30 daysof hire.
  • Employees at Inpatient/Residential sitesin MN, OH, and WAare required tohave a current First Aid certification within30 daysof hire.
  • Site-specific food safety certification from an accredited program (e.g.,ServSafe) isrequiredwithin30 daysof hire.
