Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is seeking a full-time cook to prepare patient meals, staff and visitor offerings, and support dish duties. You will follow recipes, ensure timely service, and help maintain kitchen standards in a busy hospital setting.

Under supervision, you will review menus, manage supplies, and collaborate with Food & Nutrition Services to deliver quality meals with attention to dietary needs and presentation.

Qualifications

• One to three (1-3) years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• ServSafe Certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares all foods according to approved recipes and to suitable appearance standards while using garnishes when appropriate.
• Determines types and quantities of all foods to be prepared by reviewing planned menus and printed tallies.
• Ensures meals are ready at specified times and consults with director/supervisor regarding use of leftover food.
• Determines foods/supplies/equipment that are low in supply and communicates needs to Director/Supervisor.
