Job summary

Vista Senior Living Management is seeking a reliable Cook for Woods Of Caledonia, a community within our senior living network. This part-time role requires weekend availability and a focus on high-quality meal preparation to support residents’ wellbeing.

You will work in person in Racine, WI, maintaining cleanliness, following safety procedures, and collaborating with staff to deliver nutritious meals and pleasant dining experiences for residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; culinary school diploma will be an advantage.
• Proven experience as a cook is preferred.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures is essential.

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients for cooking (chop/peel vegetables, cut meat).
• Cook food using various utensils or grillers.
• Check food during cooking to stir or turn.
• Ensure proper presentation and dress dishes before serving.
• Maintain a sanitized, orderly kitchen environment.
• Store food and other items properly and check ingredient quality.
• Monitor stock and place orders when shortages occur.

Position: Cook (Part-time)

• Pay: Starting at $19/hour
• Weekend Requirement: Must be available to work every Saturday and Sunday.
• Weekdays: Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Check food while cooking to stir or turn
• Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
• Check quality of ingredients
• Monitor stock and place orders when there are shortages

Skills

• Proven experience as cook
• Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
