Job summary

Johns Island Post Acute in Johns Island, SC is seeking a Part-Time Cook to join our expanding team. Starting pay is $15-19/hr with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401k with match and PTO.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and 1 year of cooking experience, ideally in a long-term care or healthcare setting. Responsibilities include maintaining a clean kitchen, following menus, preparing meals in large quantities and accommodating special diets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of cooking experience, preferably in a Long-Term Care or healthcare setting.
• Ability to pass a drug screen and federal background check.
• Ability to prepare special diets accurately.

Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen and cooking area in a safe, orderly, clean and sanitary manner.
• Prepare tasteful meals and to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Follow prepared menus and portion control guides.
• Prepare pureed foods.
• Record food temperatures for the meals.
• Maintain quaternary solution in sanitizer buckets.
• Work in cooperation with personnel in all departments.
