Job summary

Sonida Senior Living’s Waterford at College Station is seeking a Culinary Services Cook to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals in a well-organized, sanitary dining environment. You will support the Culinary Services Director and help maintain high service standards for residents.

The role requires a High School diploma (or equivalent) and a Food Service Sanitation Certificate, with experience in high-volume meal prep and some supervisory duties preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate required per state/local requirements.
• Experience with high-volume meal prep for large groups preferred.
• Some supervisory experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in a timely and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining an organized Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains service standards for residents including meal service, customer service, and cleanliness of dining room and kitchen.
• Cleans after preparation and service; keeps work area, pots and equipment clean.
• Ensures leftovers are properly covered, labeled, dated and stored.

Culinary Services Cook Responsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
