Position Standards:

1. Experience in restaurant, hospital, or institutional cooking required or a formal technical education.
2. School Degree Required. Hospital Experience Preferred.
3. Must be able to read and follow recipes.
4. Basic math skills necessary for recipe adjustment.
5. Flexibility in scheduling may be necessary.
6. Ability to practice safe knife skills.

Position Physical Requirements:

1. Pre-employment physical required to determine capability.
2. Physical activity includes standing for long periods, working in hot and cold environments, and lifting up to 90 lbs.
3. Must handle hot plates, pans, etc.

Functional Responsibilities:

1. Prepare and serve food according to production sheets, using standardized recipes.
2. Complete tasks timely and adhere to sanitation and infection control policies.
3. Use appropriate cleaning chemicals and keep work area neat.
4. Use proper portion sizes and accommodate special diets.
5. Assist team members, answer phones, accept deliveries, and prepare food for special functions.
6. Attend departmental and hospital meetings and in-services.
