A leading school district is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Supervisor/Cook to manage the Food and Nutrition Program. As the Kitchen Supervisor/Cook, you will deliver measurable results in overseeing the smooth operation of the Food and Nutrition Program at the school level, ensuring that students and staff are served high quality meals in an efficient, safe, clean and friendly environment.
Reports to: Director of Food and Nutrition Services
Qualifications: Love what you do, and the opportunity this job presents in food service management and cooking quantity meals for students/staff. This candidate needs to have a high school diploma, valid ServSafe Certification, valid DOE fingerprinting certification, basic computer proficiency with a working knowledge of spreadsheets, Word and email. Willingness to handle the demands of the job, working in a fast paced environment. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Responsibilities:
Safety
Ensures that the school site complies with all federal, state & local laws, regulations and policies.
Practices effective organization of documentation to ensure accountability in accordance with all regulations and policies.
Operates within established guidelines to provide a cost effective program of high quality.
Responsible for seeing that all standard sanitation practices are followed and that the highest standards of safety and cleanliness are maintained.
Accountability
Responsible for seeing that food service personnel follow safe work habits within a safe work environment.
Ensures all meals served in the school nutrition program meet current nutritional standards and meal pattern requirements.
Orders all necessary supplies on a weekly basis. Is responsible for following proper receiving and storage practices. Reports to the food services director any faulty or inferior quality food received.
Attends training and classes determined to be necessary by the food services director.
Communication
Communicates effectively with supervisor, employees, other school staff, parents and students.
Assists in the planning and preparation of any special meals required for district-sponsored events.Instructs food service personnel in the safe and efficient use of all kitchen equipment. Reports to the food services director immediately about any faulty equipment.
Implements a marketing plan for program promotion.
Leadership
Assists the food service director in evaluating food service personnel.
Assigns, directs, plans and supervises the work of food service personnel, assuring that the highest level of productivity, efficiency, and quality are maintained.
Ensures that meals are served in pleasant facilities, by courteous staff and that the finished product is of the best quality.
Performs additional related duties as requested by the food services director.

Terms of Employment: School Year. Salary to be established by the Board of School Directors.
