Job summary

The Fall R&D Engineering Co-op is a paid 16-week program located in Bloomington, IN. It provides hands-on experience in medical device manufacturing, a direct mentor, and meaningful projects across R&D Engineering.

In addition to a housing stipend and access to a fitness center, the program includes learning events and a capstone presentation, preparing students for advanced careers in life sciences and devices.

Overview

The Fall R&D Engineering C o -O p is a paid co-op experience located in Bloomington, IN . We offer a 16-week rotation in Research and Development Engineering at Cook Polymer Technology . This position includes a housing stipend , 401(k), fitness center access, learning events, capston e presentation, and more . All C o -O p positions are assigned a direct mentor and each position provide s real-world experience with meaningful projects in the medical device manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

• Utilize engineering knowledge to produce project deliverables/ documents
• Adhere to the Quality Management System (QMS) and its processes to meet FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements
• Must maintain all training requirements for the position, while seeking out opportunities for continuous development and growth
• Must work and interact effectively and professionally with and for others throughout various levels of the global organization
• Must strictly adhere to safety requirements
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance
• Must maintain company quality and quantity standards
• Must have effective communication skills and ability to work in collaborative and independent work situations and environments with minimal supervision
• Ability to remain calm and receptive in fast paced situations

Qualifications

• All candidates should have an interest in a career in the Life Sciences field, a willingness to take initiative, and an ability to work well with others
• Candidates should be students entering their Junior or Senior year the following fall semester or entering graduate school; candidates who graduate the spring semester before this internship are also eligible
• A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred
• All candidates must provide proof of enrollment (including pre-registration certification for the following fall) for consideration
