Job summary

Madison House in Kirkland, WA is seeking a skilled Cook for a part-time role in our Culinary Department. You will prepare and serve nutritious, appealing meals for the community. The position offers a wage range of $20–$24 per hour, depending on experience.

Qualifications

• Must have completed an approved Dietary Manager's Course or ServSafe certification.
• State food handlers certificate as required.
• Knowledge of food preparation, production and plate presentation.
• Drug-free and able to pass screening and background checks.
• Knowledge of special dietary needs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve attractive, nutritious meals per the menu and schedule.
• Properly store, date, and rotate food per handling guidelines.

Who you are:

You enjoy providing outstanding service and producing high quality nutrition. The Cook’s role is preparing and serving attractive and tasty meals for the community.

What you'll do:

• Ensure food is prepared in a nutritional, appetizing fashion, and presented in an attractive manner per the menu and schedule
• Properly store, date, and rotate food per food handling guidelines
• Keep the environment safe and clean
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Candidates applying must have completed an approved Dietary Manager's Course or possess a ServSafe Food Handler's certificate. (Candidates without Servsafe will be considered but must receive the certificate within the first 30 days of employment)
• All requirements related to the food handlers’ certificate per state requirements
• Knowledge of food preparation, production and plate presentation
• Must be drug-free and submit to a drug screening upon hire and routinely
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check upon hire and as required by state regulations
• Knowledge of special dietary needs
